ABOUT DENBIGH HIGH SCHOOL
Denbigh High School, located on Jackson Street in Clarendon, Jamaica, has shaped generations of students through learning, leadership, friendship, culture, sport and service. For past students, Denbigh represents more than the years spent in the classroom. It is the foundation of relationships, experiences and memories that remain with us throughout our lives.
The Denbigh High School Past Students Association (DHS PSA) keeps that connection alive by bringing generations together, supporting the growth and success of current students, preserving the school's legacy and creating meaningful opportunities for past students to contribute.
Connecting today's Denbigh students with the generations whose experiences, service and achievements form part of the school's continuing story.
OUR HISTORY
From its beginnings in 1969 to the school community we know today, Denbigh High School has continued to grow, evolve and create opportunities for generations of students.
Denbigh opened in 1969 with 810 students drawn from York Town, Four Paths and Denbigh Primary, supported by an academic, administrative and ancillary staff of 27.
Grades 10 and 11 were added, marking an important step in the school's development and its transition to Denbigh Secondary School.
The school received its first Common Entrance Awardees and became Denbigh Comprehensive High School as its academic role continued to expand.
Denbigh became a Distance Education Centre for the University of the West Indies, extending the educational reach of the campus beyond secondary-level study.
The institution was reclassified as Denbigh High School, the name by which the school community is known today.
Sixth Form was introduced, enabling Denbigh to serve students through Grades 7 to 13 and widening opportunities for advanced study.
After years of operating an extended-day system, Denbigh returned to a single shift following the completion of the Lester Michael Henry Building.
The school celebrated its 50th anniversary, bringing together past and present students, staff and supporters to reflect on five decades of growth and contribution.
Denbigh's story continues through its students, staff, families and past students, with each generation adding to the legacy of the school.
Historical milestones are based on the Denbigh High School Student Handbook (2016) and published material marking the school's 50th anniversary in 2019.

DHS PSA brings together former students who share a lasting connection to Denbigh High School. The Association provides a place to reconnect, preserve friendships, celebrate achievements and contribute to the continued development of the school and its community.
Through reunions, community activities, mentorship, fundraising, professional networking and service, the Association helps past students remain active participants in the Denbigh story long after leaving the classroom.

As past students, we carry the Denbigh spirit with us wherever we go. Today, we channel that spirit into service, mentorship, and meaningful engagement.
